Barcelona's Lionel Messi is on course to face Manchester City

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique said Lionel Messi's repossession from a groin injury relics on track, while center-back Samuel Umtiti is crawling closer to a reappear to first-team action.

"He's recovering well. I think it's nine days he's been hurt now and things are rolling according to agenda. He will reappear when he is completely fit and I will tell you when the time originates."

Messi has been out of act since being taken off injured in the another half of Barca's draw with Atletico Madrid and missed the fresh wins against Sporting Gijon and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Luis Enrique said - I can only give you the some of the normal information on a player who's recovering, when asked for an update on the Argentine's suitability.

It is the second time this season he has entered into glitches with his groin and he will once again be inattentive when the Blaugrana foldaway to Celta Vigo in La Liga soon. He will also miss Argentina's forthcoming World Cup finalists with Peru and Paraguay.

Barca initially projected that Messi would be shelved for 3 weeks, with the game against Deportivo La Coruna, which precedes Manchester City's visit in the Champions League, targeted as the match for his comeback.
